«MANUFUTURE-CH TOUR DE SUISSE 2011»

It was a pleasure for us, the Swiss affiliate of the European Manufuture organization, to play host to your President, Professor John Johansen, and a particularly active industry representative, Pernille Gerstenberg Kirkeby, in Switzerland at a get-together for people from academia and private business. The Swiss attendees appreciated listening to presentations by an experienced scientist – well aware of the requirements and circumstances that constrain industry – and by a dynamic, internationally oriented business woman about the chances and needs facing the Danish economy today.

Denmark has a highly developed, solid and successful national economy and ranks as Switzerland’s second most important commercial partner among the Scandinavian countries. The country enjoys an excellent reputation in Switzerland thanks to its advanced technology standards, and high-tech brands such as Bang & Olufsen, Vestas, Danfoss, Ecco or Rockwool are well-known to people in the country.

Both Denmark and Switzerland are small countries that need to focus continuously on innovation, research, education and training if they want to be ahead of the game in the rapidly changing global markets.

We from ManuFuture-CH would therefore be glad to join forces, contributing our technology knowledge to joint development projects, putting our synergies to more effective use and stimulating our manufacturing industries – especially at the level of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are the backbone of our economies.
