I am pleased to invite you to Aarau for the General Assembly (GA) of the ManuFuture-CH Association at 9:30 AM on Thursday, April 14, 2011.
Our GA this year is especially interesting because ManuFuture-CH was entered as a firm in the commercial register at the end of 2010. This has opened up new possibilities for financing as well as in searching for partners at home and abroad.
Since the GA in 2010, ManuFuture-CH has offered its members a range of events on numerous current topics. The IMS Summer School – The International Conference on Concurrent Enterprising ICE 2010 – took place in Lugano. The extraordinary General Meeting was held midyear at DHL Logistics in Derendingen. In November the automation community gathered at the International Mechatronics Forum in Winterthur, which was organised by ManuFuture-CH together with Burckhardt Compression. A continuation of the events has already occurred in 2011: the “Smarter Switzerland” innovation week was held at the IBM Research Centre in Rüschlikon in mid-March. Representatives from industry and academia converged to map out their visions for material technologies, logistics, automation trends, the micro-factory and medical
technology.
At this year’s GA, new members to the Board will be elected to replace the resigning members Jacques Giovanola (EPFL) and Niklaus Bühler (ETHZ). Jürg Krebser, managing director of inspire AG, and Philippe Fischer, FSRM (Fondation Suisse pour la Recherche en Microtechnique) have been proposed. Both candidates are highly qualified experts in manufacturing and will contribute tremendously to ManuFuture-CH with their many years of experience in management and technology.
But most of all, we are delighted to be a guest at Rockwell Automation in Aarau. The company is a leading supplier of automation products for industrial automation control, information systems, software and services in Switzerland, with its European Center of Excellence for low voltage products in Aarau. The tour of the production facilities at Rockwell Automation offers us a unique opportunity to gain insight into this fascinating Center of Excellence for automation solutions.
