TOUR-DE-SUISSE MANFUTURE-CH 2011 'Business IT'
Event canceled, does not take place!ManuFuture-CH Association is pleased to invite you to the second stage of this year’s TOUR-DE-SUISSE MANUFUTURE-CH 2011 at the TechnoArk in Sierre, a leading information and communication technology (ICT) site. Our topic is Business Information Technology (IT).
IT is today one of the crucial factors in production. Nothing works without IT. IT connects planning and executing domains, offices and factory buildings, it makes machines more intelligent and processes more efficient. But also issues like energy efficiency and security increasingly play a vital role and are influenced by IT.
We have the pleasure to welcome in the morning Stefan Aeschbacher, an expert from private industry, as our speaker. He will tell us about his missions as an IT and Systems Engineer in various companies active in the railroad domain, among others SBB. Another activity is IT Security in which he is pushing ahead with different mandates in the railroad and telecommunication area.
The ManuFuture-CH Association is glad to organize this event together with the HES-SO Valais, particularly as in spring 2012 the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland will join the board represented by Professor Jean-Marc Boéchat.
Professor Laurent Sciboz, director of the Business Information Systems Institute will give a lecture on «La traçabilité et la logistique: Présentation de la chaîne de valeur, les domaines d’applications et les enjeux ».
Daniel Echtle, SAP Business Analyst / New Solutions at the Lonza headquarter in Basle, will close the morning talks with a good example of innovation from his personal experience. His current subject matter is Mobile Solutions.
In the afternoon we will be a guest of the Lonza company in Visp. Lonza is one of the world's leading suppliers to the pharmaceutical, healthcare and life science industries. Products and services span its customers’ needs from research to final product manufacture. A tour of the plant will be the highlight and the closure of the day.
It is our pleasure to welcome you in Sierre. We do not only intend to offer you an attractive programme but also want to treat you to some fine food. Under the motto “Sennenkutteli (dairyman’s dress habit) meets Kimono” three trainees will prepare for you typical delicacies from the Valais with special Asiatic touches.

Smarter Switzerland: AUSGEBUCHT!

Im März 2011 luden die ManuFuture-CH Association und IBM Research Zurich dynamische Persönlichkeiten aus Akademie und Privatwirtschaft zur Innovationswoche «Smarter Switzerland» nach Rüschlikon. Im Brennpunkt standen die Trends zukünftiger Technologien und die Herausforderungen, mit denen die Schweizer Wirtschaft auf globalen Märkten konfrontiert sein wird. Konkret geht es um die Bereiche neue Materialtechnologien, Logistik, Automation, Mikrofabrikation und IT/Medizintechnik.
Mit Vorträgen von Spezialisten technologischer Trendforschung sowie durch Gedankenaustausch und Diskussionen wollte ManuFuture-CH den Puls der Unternehmen fühlen, um gemeinsam mit ihnen konkrete Massnahmen zur Belebung des Produktionsstandortes Schweiz anzupacken. Ganz oben auf der Prioritätenliste stehen Kooperationen zwischen Hochschulen bzw. Fachhochschulen und der Privatwirtschaft.
Inzwischen wurden Anregungen, kritische Bemerkungen und Vorschläge in einem Buch ‚Smarter Switzerland 2011‘ zusammengefasst, das auf www.manufuture.ch bezogen werden kann.
Am Montagnachmittag, 24. Oktober 2011, lädt ManuFuture-CH erneut zu einem Zusammentreffen ein, um konkrete Aktionsmöglichkeiten in den erwähnten Bereichen vorzustellen. Ein Vortrag der IBM-Physikerin Karin Veit über die Chancen der Nanotechnologie für Schweizer Unternehmen sowie ein Rundgang durch die neuen Nano-Labors von IBM und ETH Zürich runden den Anlass ab. Der anschliessende Apéro riche bietet Gelegenheit, Kontakte aufzunehmen, sei es mit den Themenverantwortlichen von ManuFuture-CH oder mit Partnern in spe aus Akademie und Privatwirtschaft.
ManuFuture-CH freut sich über die Teilnahme und dankt im Voraus für die wertvollen Beiträge zur Dynamisierung der Produktionsbranche in der Schweiz.
Sustainable Manufacturing Matchmaking Event
6 - 7 October 2011
A Sustainable Manufacturing Matchmaking event 2011 will be held in Donostia – San Sebastian, Spain on 7th October 2011* in the frame of EUREKA PRO-FACTORY-PLUS programme. It is being organised by Tecnalia Research & Innovation and Bantec Group with the support of the Spanish EUREKA Office at CDTI, Spanish Innovation financing Agency.
This Networking event will target a wide spectrum of companies, universities and researchers from Europe interested in sharing new project ideas and finding collaboration partners for EUREKA PRO-FACTORY-PLUS projects. PRO-FACTORY-PLUS, the continuation of former PRO-FACTORY programme, aims at improving the competitiveness of European manufacturing, production and robotics for greater competitiveness and sustainability.
Participants are expected to actively take part in bilateral meetings in order to make new contacts for collaboration and to establish R&D collaborative projects under the EUREKA PRO-FACTORY-PLUS framework and funding procedures. A technical visit to an Industrial Manufacturing company is planned. Optionally, the day before October 6th a visit to Tecnalia Research & Innovation Research Center and a Networking Dinner with Pro-Factory-Plus national contacts is planned.
The theme of the discussions will be sustainable manufacturing. The following are the areas of discussion under this theme:
- Energy efficiency in manufacturing
- New sustainable processes
- New machinery concepts for sustainability
- Model-based engineering for sustainability
- Maintenance for sustainability manufacturing

The morning programs, led by staff members from the IBM Research Lab in Rüschlikon, will feature aspects of the Global Technology Outlook: the company’s annual trend prognosis. During the afternoon programs, representatives from academia and the corporate sector will discuss future trends for various industries. Each day of the event will conclude with a synthesis and summary.
